When most people think of Special Needs Children they think of children with physical disabilities or perhaps children with ADD, ADHD, autism. There are also children with Bipolar Disorder and various other forms of Mental Illness including Psychosis and Schizophrenia. Many families deal with these every day, deal with the stigma of these illnesses and just like a child with physical disabilities, they have to navigate the school system bureaucracy to obtain the special needs programs and accomodations their child requires. It is a daunting task and it all begins with awareness.
I am passing this award on to the following people who are so deserving:
1. Stephany @ Soulful Sepulcher. Stephany is a parent of a child with a mental illness. She devotes her blog to awareness and providing the latest information on medications and treatments.Congratulations to each of you and thank you for all you do!
2. Monica @ Oh Fer Cryin' Out Loud. Monica is also a parent of a child with a mental illness. Some of you who follow my blog may remember the poem that I posted from her site, "You Have To Be His Brother To Understand".
3. Amy @ All About Bipolar (Formerly Being Bipolar). While Amy does not have a special needs child (as far as I know), she does have Bipolar and does a lot on her blog to educate and inform people about the disorder, as well as other forms of mental illness.

Congrats on the award!
Congrats on your award.
Congrats I love that the award is bilingual! I am taking the challenge.
Peace!
Congrats on your award. My son is ADD and has anxiety. Public schools are a scary place for us to navigate, and I can't begin to imagine what it's like for families who are dealing with even more demanding issues than what I am.
Great blog, I found you via Gladys Tells All!
