Overwhelmed? What Do You Do?

I'm thinking many of you may be as overwhelmed as I am over back to school activities, because I'm not seeing much comment activity on my blogs and not a lot on the ones I've managed to visit over the last week and a half.

We've had multiple doctor visits (for everyone in our house); multiple dental visits, sports try-outs, practices and school registrations, and back to school shopping for both teens and let's not forget the ER visit and hospital visits.

I've been run ragged 24/7 for the last almost 2 weeks.

I'm exhausted and overwhelmed. I would imagine that I'm not alone.

How do you deal with it? How do you cope?

What's your secret? (Shhhh! I won't tell! Please! I'm desparate!)

  1. Actually, the thing that I love to do most to de-stress and relax is to put on my iPod and headphones (yes, I still use headphones not ear-pods!) and crank up my favorite obnoxious 80's music!! I go in my room, shut the door and 30 minutes later, I emerge a new woman!

    Hope your week gets better!

  4. What's my secret?

Leave comments, eat chocolate and drink margaritas. Oh, and I run in the morning and do yoga too.

  6. I would like to say I have it all figured out.

    But alas, I do not.

One thing I can say for sure...is that it really helps knowing that there are so many others out there dealing with the same stuff.

    Oh...and beer.

    Just sayin'. ;)

  8. @ Rita - Yes, drinking is always an option, but with all the medication I'm on, it makes me a little nervous.

@ StaceyC4 - Ipod is good, but being able to escape for even 30 minutes is virtually impossible.

@ Harriet - Wb! The chocolate and margarita (in moderation...damn!) are doable, however the jogging and yoga are not. I've been so stressed and doing way to much that my back is screaming, which doesn't help matters because then it makes me incredibly grouchy. And because I have so much running around to do, I can't do what I am supposed to do to help the pain...which is take the muscle relaxants and get knocked the hell out. Lol!

@ Sass - Beers good too. Lol!

    @ Herrad - Thank you!

  9. I handled it by not having children! Yes, comments are down, reading is down.

I find that posting every other day is better for me. If people post every day, I can't catch up and just mark them 'read.' I assume people do that to me as well.

  11. Sad to say that the first thing that goes is EC dropping and commenting a ton. I post, but the extras have to go by the wayside. The sad part about that is that I enjoy blog-hopping, but something has to give. :(
