New Year's Resolutions

I don't do them. I don't believe in them. Besides, Ninety-Two Percent of New Year's Resolutions Won't Be Kept. "Forty-five percent fail by the end of January".

Why set yourself up for almost guaranteed failure?

While I don't do New Year's Resolutions, I do work on things I feel I need to work on throughout the year.

Beginning in July of 2008 I began working on my temper. It's one of those things that needed lots of work, but I am proud to say that since beginning working on it none of the new friends I made in the last year has ever seen my temper, though I have seen theirs many times. I consider my work a success.

Beginning in February of last year I began working on weight loss and I continue to do so. Since I have gone down 5 sizes since then I consider my work a success, but I continue to work on it every day. Another weigh in today. I lost 15.4 pounds since my last doctor visit in mid October. Not bad considering Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays! That brings my total weight loss since February to 75.4 pounds!

Throughout the last year I have been working on getting a job. This is a 7 day a week, every hour of my waking day job. I have had a few interviews, but I have yet to have a job offer. This is something that I will continue to work on until I find that elusive job.

  1. I agree, resolutions are pointless. I don't do them either. My temper could definitely use some work but right now it seems like everyone and everything is poking at it so it's going to rear its ugly head shortly!

  2. It will all come--but with time. I'll bet even the job comes through too, pally. But it's not all gonna happen in January like everyone wants. :)

  4. I'm so impressed with your weight loss -- congratulations! And like those 92%-ers out there, I have seen the error of my ways and I no longer allow the word resolutions to appear in my vocabulary.

    It's the R-word and I don't like it.

p.s. How come I cannot use the name/URL option anymore?
