Day 126, 127 of Sheltering In

Friday, Saturday. Friday was my birthday. We picked up Chinese food near my house to bring over and have lunch with my daughter at her group home. It was good to see maintenance guys there installing a new back porch. Boards were flipping up when stepped on end of last year, they just put a bunch of screws in. The porch got worse and Nutjob has been falling on the porch because of the dangerous condition it was in. I reported it to the Director Wednesday. She moved on it quickly and got their maintenance guys over on Friday. Usually it’s at least a week wait for any repair issues.

Later in the day I found out the day (Sunday) for my party at my father in law’s and that the younger sister in law is working and can’t go. Kind of assuming that’s a lie because she is always off on Sundays and spends the day gaming. Her fiancé, my ex friend who ruined my birthday 8 years ago did it again. She suggested a bonfire (fire pit) at my house and roast weinies and make s’mores. My wife was so excited, thought it was a great idea. Me? 👎 due 8 years ago. In fact, my wife just told me that my ex friend has been bugging my wife to have a bonfire at my house.

My wife couldn’t reach her Friday night or Saturday until after I went to the store and bought the food. She didn’t feel like it. My wife still wants to do it Sunday night, just the 3 of us. Whateves. We are both starved for adult conversation other than ours together. I had kept my expectations low so I wasn’t disappointed. My wife is making a big deal about the birthday party at her Dad’s house. She’s all excited, making pasta salad, cooking the brats to reheat at the party. Supposedly his wife is working, but I have a feeling she won’t be and it will be a big shirt show with her Dad and step monster fighting. This happened at a gathering last year. So again, keeping my expectations low.

Thursday water and food was delivered to the 2nd floor (because of my email to the Director). They got fresh AND frozen fruits and veggies. I’m bringing this up because my daughter was verbally assaulted by a house staff member Saturday morning about the food and water. Barbara (house staff) told my daughter “you better not pull another stunt like that with Amy again, telling her there is no bottled water and no food for the 2nd floor. You could have got stuff from the 1st floor.” Amy is a supervisor above the team lead, the team lead is above the house staff. Barbara was one of several house staff who refused to allow the 2nd floor clients to get bottled water and food from the first floor. There’s even more that was said by Barbara. I told my wife what happened and I quickly ran through in my head who I can go to for bail money. My wife wanted to go over and give Barbara a piece of her mind and tell her she better not hear about her threatening my daughter again. Barbara is off tonight, but works in the morning Sunday. Have I mentioned that the Pilot is running, gas in the tank, and my wife had the only key? She could leave early while I’m still sleeping. I am SO going to need bail money for her tomorrow.

I see another email being sent to the Director by Monday. I will not have my daughter threatened. I will not be quiet about it. She lives in a group home with city water that tastes and looks horrible. Bottled water is a necessity. While the 2nd floor wasn’t completely without food, they were out of staples and fruit and veggies.
