Sunday Stealing: The Current Obsessions Meme
Book: Oooh! Stephen King's Under The Dome. I cannot put it down. As soon as I saw Cardiogirl blog about it I immediately reserved it at my local library. I picked it up Thursday and I haven't been able to put it down. Anastasia bought it for her Kindle over a week ago and she's really p'od at me because I'm leaving her in the dust and am more than twice as far in the book as she is and I only started on it on Thursday . Can I help it that I "make" time to read when I find something I want to read? I've been stoned out on vics because my back has been screaming, otherwise I'd be even further along.
Snack: Pistachio nuts- Because it's the only snack I can keep our teenage son away from. I've really been wanting the chips and salsa I bought when I shopped before New Year's, but I found out last night that he polished off the entire bag of chips (except for a few crumbs) and the entire bottle of salsa (except for about a teaspoon). I'm beginning to think having a teenage boy is a great diet plan because any time I buy any treats they disappear before I can even have a taste. December 30th I had to go to Jewel to use up the rest of my free frozen food coupons for purchasing a freezer from them earlier in the year. They expired December 31st. Most of the coupons left were for ice cream products. Our son ate 2 boxes of ice cream sandwiches, an entire 1/2 gallon of cookie dough ice cream and 1/4 of a gallon of orange sherbet in about a day. By himself! No lie!
Restaurant: We don't go out much, but I do enjoy a local chain of mexican restaurants called El Burrito Loco. Everything I've tried there is great and reasonably priced.
Beverage: I drink iced tea or ice water. Mostly ice water. We've given up buying soda because...again...teenage son.

Quote: You can't always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you might find, you get what you need. - The Rolling Stones
Peeve: Teenage son who eats/drinks all of the good stuff and then usually puts back the empty box, can or container on the shelf where he got it from, as if we aren't going to notice it's empty. (Are you seeing a theme here?)
Sport: Blogging...wait...you mean it's not a sport?

ReplyDeleteI REALLY want to read Under the Dome. My husband got it for Xmas and thought he'd put off reading it for a while, so I thought I could snag it first. But now he's decided to read it and he TAKE FOREVER to get through even a normal book. So it'll probably be next year before I get my paws on it.
I love big bang theory too. Forgot to mention it.

ReplyDeleteEXCELLENT answer to the meme question.
ReplyDeleteThat is a long meme! But I was honored to make your blog list!! :) Teenage kids are the WORST for eating all the good stuff in the house. I liked it better when they were fussy about what they ate.
ReplyDeleteYes, I LOVE the Big Bang Theory too and what is up with the teenagers who eat everything and put the stuff back empty???
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a great sport! It dis go on too long. :) Happy Sunday...
ReplyDelete(jumps up and down) I'm so jacked that you're reading Under the Dome. Isn't Junior a total psycho?
ReplyDeleteAnd I love how Jim frequently says, "He/She's eating dinner/roast beef with the Lord right now."
I love Big Bang Theory!
ReplyDeleteTeenage sons will eat you out of house and home. My aunt used to send her boys to school with a loaf of sandwiches each when they were in high school.
