My Seventh Conversation 10 Months - 10 Lives Challenge

Some of you may recall my previous posts on the 10 Month - 10 Lives Challenge.
Join The Impact says “Join us in a challenge over the next 10 months that will make an IMPACT. 10 months - 10 lives changed. Everyone in this movement must help keep the conversation going.
"We are asking each and every one of you to engage in 10 conversations with someone who does not understand our struggle and help them to see our point of view. We are not asking that you try to infringe on or disrespect their beliefs. Change can not occur with insult, it will only occur with respect. If all of us work hard to positively affect 10 lives, we can change this entire nation!"

It's time for my Seventh Conversation of the 10 Month - 10 Lives Challenge. For this 7th conversation I thought I would take the time to point out how far we have come in terms of our rights and visibility.
Obama Ushers in "Revolution of Gay Rights".
Prop. 8 Decision Coming Tuesday. Prop 8 was overturned, however the 18,000 marriages will stand.
Illinois Poised to Approve Civil Unions - Washington Blade
Who would have thought an out Lesbian, Wanda Sykes, would have performed at the White House Correspondent's Dinner?
Who would have thought President Obama would have 2 out lesbians on his short list for the Supreme Court?
Who would have thought that President Obama would have over 30 gay men and women in senior posts?
I think what this really all means is that we are all more alike than we realize. We can perform any job all the way up to senior posts for the President of the United States. Some of us do our jobs in silence, denying who we are, defending our country because of DADT. Some of us give up our lives defending a country that not only denies us the right to be open and "out", but also denies us certain civil rights.

Our country is making great strides, state by state legalizing Gay Marriage or Civil Unions. I celebrate each victory, no matter how small. Nothing happens overnight.
