What is it with teens and summer...grrrr!

I am about to lose my mind. My kids are on summer break and for some reason they think that they can sit on their asses and do absolutely nothing all day.

Not only do they do absolutely nothing all day, they are cooking meals that are meant for dinner and messing up my kitchen even worse than the day before.

Today is day 2 of my strike. I can't wait until they leave tomorrow so I can clean and have the house stay clean for more than 5 minutes.

Last night one of the kids actually had the nerve to ask me when I was coming downstairs to do something about dinner. I said I wasn't coming down and I wasn't doing anything about dinner. (If they can find and cook dinner meals for lunch...wtf? Why can't they cook dinner? I work all day. There is plenty of food in the house.)

So I told them I was doing what they've been doing all week...
sitting on my ass doing nothing...
dead silence.
That's when I told them they could leave my room now.
Grrrrr!

Good luck with that. Usually my sense of "mom" kicks in and the strike ends much sooner than I intended. I really need to get over that.

Stay in your room.

Lola, you sound like such a MOM!! Hahaha!

My son is home from college and eating me out of house and home!! OMG! We can't keep enough food in this house!! Ugh.

He didn't find a job this summer, which is okay because he has a great job to go back to at school. I get that and I'm okay with it because he pays for his own books and everyday expenses when he is there.

But, after he took ONE class this summer, he is back to doing nothing all day. It drives me crazy, but I remember being like that at his age too. And I remember my mom going nuts about it as well.

I'm with ya on this one, pally. It's crazy, isn't it??!

My two teenage sons were driving me crazy sitting around the house on the first day of vacation! Computers and TV are banned on weekdays, and I kicked them out of the house to do something. The next day was a little better.
