Did you call in Gay 12/10/08? If you did, how did you spend your day?

Call In Gay - Day Without Gay

I didn't call in Gay today because my full time job is looking for a new one. Can't take a day off from the job search.

Did you call in Gay Wednesday? If you did, how did your boss take it? What did you do with your Gay day away from work?

Is "calling in gay" admitting homosexuality is a sickness?

According to http://daywithoutgay.wetpaint.com/page/faqs A Day Without Gay is an alternative to a march at a time of year when your town might have harsh weather. It's meant to draw attention to what a day without gay would be like, how many business will be closed, people staying home from their jobs. It's meant to draw attention to Gay issues.

It's very much a similar effor to the Immigration Marches in 2006 and 2007, when immigrants took time off their jobs to march to draw attention to their issues.

The big difference here is that the Gay Community has chosen to volunteer on 12/10/08 to worthy organizations, rather than march, clogging up the downtown area, wasting city services (meaning the cost of extra money spent for police overtime, security and clean-up).

I called in gay for the afternoon. However, I work for myself, so I don't know how much of a statement I was making. My cats seemed impressed.
