Ask Lola A Question - The Answers...

I was hoping for more questions from more participants, but this time we had only 1 participant.
From Stacey at All Stace, All The Time:

1. entertainment: Do you think that Joe Jackson has a right to demand money from Michael's estate after he was left out of the will? He certainly has a right to, everyone pretty much has a right to contest a will if they have the legal know how or the means to hire an attorney. Do I think he should get any? No. How will a judge rule on it? I tend to think a judge would rule against him, just because it's common knowledge how Micheal felt about his father. But you never know, I don't know on what grounds Joe Jackson is demanding money.

2. politics: What do you think of this new John Edwards book? Do you think they should have waited until after Elizabeth Edwards passed away to release it? I think the book is authored by Andrew Young, John Edwards' campaign volunteer and I think later staff member. I think Young obviously did the book for the money and obviously has an agenda. What he ultimately intends to accomplish with the book (other than the money) is something else. I really dislike these tell-all books written by supposed 'people in the know' whose sole intent is to tarnish the image of the subject. Elizabeth Edwards certainly doesn't need to hear about these things. She's fighting for her life right now. She doesn't need to be spending the rest of her limited time on earth bitter and angry. As for the alleged sex tape that exists, for hosts of entertainment programs to make references to the size of his appendage...that's completely inappropriate, and something I'm sure Elizabeth is already familiar with.

3. sports: Any thoughts on the Super Bowl? I think I'm rooting for the underdog. I'm hoping the New Orleans Saint's win their first Super Bowl. The Colts have been in the Super Bowl 4 times, winning twice. I usually pick a team to root for, but I'm usually more interested in the commercials...that is, unless my Chicago Bears are playing. This year I'm going with the New Orleans Saints. The Superbowl menu is yet to be determined. We will definitely have meatballs (with chili sauce and either grape jelly or cranberry sauce), cocktail weiners in bbq sauce, veggie and cheese tray, dip (reduced fat cream cheese, green onion, buddig lunchmeat). I was thinking chili, but now I'm thinking maybe something different...anyone got any ideas for the main dish?

We have a late entry from Harriet at I am Harriet:
Will the Cubs win the World Series this year? Are you serious? No. Due to the tomfoolery in October 2008...having a priest bless the dugout in an attempt to remove the Curse of the Billy Goat, the Cubs are doomed to another losing season. They need to rid themselves of Zambrano and make some smart trades for some decent pitching staff.

Today's meme- Bathroom Musings

For each of the prompts, you may answer with an image, a sentence or however you want to.Simply copy and paste this into a post on your site and answer the prompts. Be sure to list your a direct link to your post and visit the other participants.

1. What do you read when you are sitting on the toilet?

Catalogs. Anytime I get a catalog I put it on the shelf.

2. Do you pee in the shower?

No. That's so gross!

3. Do you always wash your hands after you use the toilet?

Yes!

4. Do you allow someone to come into the bathroom while you are using the toilet?

It happens all the time. Irish always has to come in and check out what's going on.

5. Do you clean your shower in the nude?

Technically...yes. Shower, spray the glass, exit, (leaving time for the spray to do it's magic), towel off, then back in to squeegee. TMI?

6. When you use the toilet at someone else's house do you go through their medicine cabinet and/or their bathroom cabinets and drawers?

Nah. I try not to use other people's bathrooms.

7. For the Men...Have you ever left the toilet seat up on purpose to irritate the woman in your life?

Son does it rarely. Since he is outnumbered 3 to 1, he pretty much has to comply or he'll hear it from all 3 of us.

8. For the Women...Have you ever fallen into the toilet because someone left the toilet seat up?

Yes.

9. Do you courtesy flush?

What is that exactly?

10. Do you light a match or a candle or spray an air freshner when you are finished pooping?

No, we have fans in our bathrooms.

11. Have you ever fallen asleep on the toilet?

Actually...yes. When I was working I used to catch an afternoon cat nap.

12. What is the strangest thing you have ever flushed down the toilet?

I've never personally flushed anything strange, but the previous owners of my first house flushed a plastic CTA token keeper down the toilet. That was a nice $200 plumber bill. After that I learned how to take care of such plumbing problems myself. When my kids were toddlers they flushed a plastic apple from their kitchen set down that same toilet. It was wedged in good and wouldn't come out the top or the bottom. I ended up taking a cordless drill and drilling several holes in it and then collapsed it using a pair of pliers. Came right out after that, but of course the kids no longer had an apple for their kitchen. Lol!

SuperBowl banned GoDaddy.com Commercial

Apparently the SuperBowl banned this GoDaddy.com commercial because of Lola. Umm, no, not this Lola. This Lola:

Sorry, but I don't find what exactly is objectionable about this ad. I certainly find it less objectionable than the Tim Tebow ad.

Random Tuesday Thoughts

Sunday night Anastasia and I were up late talking, reminiscing about our childhoods, things we remembered about our parents. I told her about every Sunday how we stopped at Sentry Foods after church and got hot ham and rolls for lunch. Then when we got home my Dad would do one of three things.
1. Turn on wgn to watch The Lone Ranger and The Cisco Kid. I remember those incessant commercials for Bert Weinman Ford. They used to drive me crazy. Didn't wgn ever have any other commercials?

2. Turn on the stereo and listen to the polka shows. (Why, I have no idea. I never in my life saw my parents dance the polka.)
3. Put on the Dominique record by The Singing Nun aka Sister Luc-Gabriele aka Jeanine Deckers. My Dad would play that over and over. A fun fact that my Dad never knew was that Ms. Deckers left her order to pursue her singing career and "embrace her lesbian sexuality".
Who knows, maybe my Dad had a thing for Debbie Reynolds who sang an English version of Dominique in The Singing Nun (1966)?

Our daughter had a 6 game bowling match on Saturday. She normally bowls in the 60-80 range. Her last game of the match she bowled a 108. Woo hoo!

Ok, I'm tired of the snow already and it's freakin' cold out there. Our daughter is home sick today. Oh joy! Anastasia is going to the dome driving range and invited me to join her and her sister, but I'm going to have to take a pass because I've got to stay home with the sick one. Oh well, I would have been just a spectator anyway, but at least I would have gotten out of the house.
