What's the worst Christmas Gift you've ever gotten?

Why did you think it was the worst?

How long ago did you get that gift?

Who was it from? (You don't need to name names, you can use their title - mother, father, son, spouse or if you really must keep the givers identity a secret to protect national security, you can use an alias.)

Tomorrow's question will be "What was the best Christmas gift you've gotten?", so hold onto your answers and watch for the post tomorrow.

Wait, wait, wait! I have an answer!

The worst X-mas gift I ever got was a used version of Microsoft Word. My husband got the disks from one of his coworkers and wrapped them up, not even attempting to make them look brand-new. Just a box of discs. Not only were they used; they were outdated. It was a really old version of Word.

I was pretty mad. And he's gotten a LOT better.

He probably thought he was getting you something you needed.

I had an ex that gave me 2 fleece pullovers. One had Tiger (Winnie the Pooh) and the other had some other Pooh character emblazened on the front. I'm just not a Winnie the Pooh fan and I certainly don't want any of their characters across my chest drawing attention to it. I feel like a 4 year old when I wear them.

My then future mother-in-law gave me one of those plate with Princess Diana's face on it. I like Di but I don't want to see her face everyday in my house. I also received a small water tabletop decor that looked so cheap and tacky. She's not the best gift giver and I've come to live with that. LOL
My husband received a pair of pants and shirt that is way too large from my aunt. It's not even one size larger but it's like 2 or 3 sizes larger. It goes to show she didn't really put much thought to it and wrapped whatever she can find in her spare closet. She was working at Levis Strauss that time and they have employee sales all the time.

Worst present I ever gave. . . (can't think of a bad one I've received). . . worst one I ever gave: to my son when he was 5. . . a kalimba, a thumb piano. . . he stared at me, stared at the kalimba, asked me where the thumbs were and never touched it. Ever

Babette,
So that's who buys all those commemorative plates! Mother in laws!

Koe,
I don't even know what a thumb piano is, so I googled it. They look pretty cool.
Thanks!

A waffle iron. It was the first Christmas DH and I were married and that was what he wanted to get for the house so he gave it to me as a gift. We don't exchange gifts much and that really irritated me.

Deb,

Why don't you turn the tables on him? Buy something you would like and wrap it up for him!
