Day 68 of Sheltering In

Thursday. Wednesday I went to the drive up at the hospital and had the coronavirus test. My doctor sent an order over so there was no bs about not knowing if you’ve been in contact with someone with the virus and you say no or you don’t know and they send you away and don’t do the test. I had the test done. They said 24-48 hours they would send the results to my doctor and his office would let me know.

I thought for sure I’d be called with the results Thursday. Nope. I even checked MyChart to see if the test results were there. Nope. My doctor’s office is only open until noon on Fridays. If I don’t hear from him I will have to continue to isolate until I do, which means until Monday. It’s not like I have major plans, but I haven’t gone grocery shopping this week. Since my wife’s TNR’s messed up her back she seldom goes out, and never for more than a couple items, not a full grocery shop. It’s not like we have no food, we just don’t have any fresh fruit and veggies, and the milk is probably bad.

My daughter is having a laundry emergency. Why she had to wait to attempt laundry until ALL her clothes over there are dirty I have no idea. They have 2 washers and dryers at her group home. One washer broke yesterday and the other clients are saying they are both broken. She couldn’t get a straight answer from day staff today cuz that woman ALWAYS has to be difficult. She probably knows, but is messing with my daughter. It’s a sport for this woman and it really ticks me off.

We did not tell my daughter about my getting tested, but my wife insisted my son had to go with us, so he obviously knows. My wife drove. Let’s just leave it at that. K? My son had to have told his sister, but in all the many, many calls from her today she never mentioned it. She also never questioned why I might not be able to leave the house on Friday.

In lighter news, the kids have asked us what we want for Father’s Day. Yes, we got gifts for Mother’s Day, and cards, but since we are basically Mom and Dad, they like to treat us special for both. It’s sweet. And the 🍒  on top is that because their dad has been a major asshat earlier this week, they have blocked all his phone numbers. If he would behave like a proper human being, he wouldn’t get blocked. My kids enjoy going to Grandpa’s house on Father’s Day. He is the only Grandpa they have ever known, so they make plans every year and every year their dad acts like an asshat. He says ‘that’s not even your real grandpa, you should be seeing me, I’m your dad.’ He’s never acted like a dad, never sees them. Sometimes it goes for over a year, two years that he doesn’t see them. He can’t fit them into his busy, not even working schedule. No child support, never followed the support order, and he’d buy gifts for them but never let them have them.
