Review - XXX Rated Product Review

FOR ADULTS ONLY
A while ago I became part of Eden Fantasys Ambassador Program and had a chance to choose a product to review. I selected Belladonna's Toybox, a 3 dvd set.

I have to say the format of these dvd's was unusual. The premise is that the female host of a talk show invites 2 female guests to talk a bit about their bedroom lives and then invites them to select toys from her toy box and use them...on camera. It's kind of a very long infomercial for adult toys. While the first 2 dvds were somewhat educational, in that you had an opportunity to see how the toys are used, the 3rd dvd really didn't involve the toy box. While it may seem impressive and a bargain to basically get 3 dvds for the price of one, really only 2 dvds followed the format.

So, did the dvds have the intended effect? I would say so, and I think that one might possibly learn about a few new toys they might want to add to their own personal toy box.

Review - KT Tunstall "Tiger Suit" Cd

I was thrilled when the One2One Network invited me to review KT Tunstall's 3rd album, "Tiger Suit". It's been in stores since October 5th. From KTTunstall.com - Story:
"Tunstall has coined the term “nature techno” to encapsulate the album’s collision of raw, upfront rootsiness and sleek electronic textures -“think Eddie Cochrane meets Leftfield” she suggests. “The songs exist in other worlds for me,” she says, “and I was trying to evoke place through how they sounded.” And so, without sacrificing any of her personal storytelling touch, the sonic landscape shifts from the uninhibited tribal yelp of Uummannaq Song, inspired by her Greenland foray, to the analogue drone-meets-oriental chime and flutter of Lost, by way of Push That Knot Away – “a signature track of the album for me. I see it as taking place in a forest at night and it’s about confronting fear rather than running away”."
I have to say, I am not a fan of techno-pop, or , "nature techno", as KT Tunstall refers to it. Because I liked KT Tunstall's previous album, Eye To The Telescope, I decided to give it a try. I did manage to find 2 songs I really like on the new album, "Difficulty" and "(Still A) Weirdo" which has a beautiful acoustic guitar line.

* KT is a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum, Scottish-born singer-songwriter
* Tiger Suit was released October 5th and her rollicking first single "Fade Like A Shadow" is a Top 20 hit at radio.
* KT will be on tour this Fall (10/31-12/1)
* KT's previous hit songs include - the Grammy-nominated "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree," "Suddenly I See," Other Side of the World" or "Hold On".

CD Track listing (you can listen to song samples on Amazon):
1. Uummannaq Song
2. Glamour Puss
3. Push That Knot Away
4. Difficulty
5. Fade Like A Shadow
6. Lost
7. Golden Frames
8. Come On, Get In
9. (Still A) Weirdo
10. Madame Trudeaux
11. The Entertainer

Company Coming

I'm big on cooking and entertaining and I enjoy having "company" over, but it's a bit difficult to accommodate much more than my immediate family because of my blue light special dining table.

With the holidays approaching, it seems like a good time to upgrade my dining room table. I don't have a lot of space, so I'd really like to get a new drop leaf table, or a table that has leaves that can be added or taken away as needed.

Something like this would be perfect because it would work well with my modern oak kitchen cabinets.
I guess when I purchased my first new (not hand-me-down, not garage sale) dining set I wasn't thinking ahead to entertaining and having guests over.

Randomness

My daughter is being discharged Friday and is absolutely ecstatic. The medication she takes for depression was increased and I think that along with group therapy has really helped her. Of course that still doesn't stop my worries about her going to her dad's wedding on Sunday.
My son's bus hit a pedestrian this morning. The school called to notify me and all they said was "pedestrian". All morning and afternoon I was googling to find out more information. I eventually found out it was a fellow student from his school who was on a bike. When I found out the location of the accident, I suddenly had a bad feeling and hoped it wasn't his bff from down the street. Later I was on my son's fb and my worst fears were confirmed. It was his bff and my son saw the accident happen. My son was on the school bus that hit him. The school bus had him pinned under the axle and it took 2 tow trucks to lift the front of the bus off him and then the fire department inflated air bags underneath the bus while they worked to extricate him. As soon as I found out it was him I called the school and told them I'd be picking up my son. After school we went to the hospital to visit him. For someone who was pinned under a bus he doesn't look too bad. About 7 staples to close a gash in his head and his knee was all bandaged up, and a few scrapes. My son was his first non-family visitor. His parents came by our house later to discuss what my son saw and thank him for coming to visit. All the kid was worried about was where his "lucky" baseball cap was. And his sister who was there asked why would he want it because it obviously wasn't "lucky" anymore. I say it was. Damn lucky he didn't get killed or more seriously injured. My son had me drive by the accident scene to see if the hat was still there, but it wasn't. I think taking him to visit was exactly the right thing to do. Especially since his sister was in the hospital and he wasn't allowed to visit her because they don't allow anyone under 18 to visit. I think it really calmed his nerves to actually see his friend really was ok.

Tomorrow and the weekend is crazy busy. I have to pick up my son from school, go to pick up my daughter from the hospital, take them to Anastasia's house, then to a friend's house, then to Chicago for a concert in celebration of her birthday earlier this week. Then back to pick up the kids and take them to the wedding venue. Then possibly to a haunted house with a group we belong to. Crazy lot of driving. Glad I managed to sneak in my tire rotation after the hospital visit.

If you haven't been over to my other blog, Fire Crotch Rocket please stop by. I've got new posts up.
