Traveling...

I came across this old post from Lin Thank You, God - Duck and Wheel With String. It made me think of this crazy thing Anastasia's family was doing a few years ago. It went on for years. I guess you could call their thing the Traveling Bunny.

They had this white bunny that they would sneak and give it to someone else. One time Anastasia's sister Sybil stuffed the bunny under the blanket Anastasia was sleeping under. Another time, it was put on her car seat.

One Christmas Anastasia and I took a wardrobe box, stuffed it with shredded paper, put Traveling Bunny in a box somewhere in the middle, then wrapped the box.

The pièce de résistance was when I Fed-Ex'd Traveling Bunny to Sybil. For some reason that was bunny's last trip. I'm guessing because it couldn't be topped.

How cute.

My husband and I have done that on a smaller scale -- hiding this little plastic green army guy in each others' cereal, underwear drawers, etc.

I don't know where it is now, tho. I hope he didn't try to Fed Ex it to me.

The other day I saw a car go whizzing past me with the same "Thank You God" bumper sticker on the back that we kept sticking in Joe's car. It cracked me up. But then, I wondered what he did with that thing. Hmmmm....

I wonder how it would look on his new car???

I like your traveling Bunny tale. :) I think you "won".

My brother and his friends had this same kind of tradition when they were getting married. Whoever got married received a hunormous rubber dildo. It weighed at least 10 lbs and was a foot and a half long and at least 12 inches around. It was usually hidden during the bachelor party when some drinking was involved. Last I saw it it was in the middle of the street having been run over several times by passing cars. Not quite the same thing as the bunny but lots of fun.

That's kind of funny. My sister went through this phase (as an adult) where she had this little pink rubber monster that sat on her finger tip that she took everywhere. We all had to take pictures with it...kind of funny now, but back then it was annoying. Anyway, my husband and I took it one time when she wasn't looking and took pictures of it with it's hands tied behind it's back and gagged! And sent her the pictures with a ransom note! Now THAT was funny!
