Happy Birthday to my daughter

My daughter turns 18 today. I can hardly believe this much time has passed since she was born. It seems like just yesterday she was running around in diapers.

Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great day!

Sunday Stealing

The 5000 Question Meme, Part Three

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let's go!!!

Today we ripped off a blogger named Leo from the blog Leonine's Journal. He was tackling a meme that his blogging site, Live Journal, hosts. It has 5,000 questions. He did a hundred. So, we will break it up into parts. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Cheers to all of us thieves!

Thursday Thunks...

Welcome to the March 24th edition of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
We pick a subject, and your job is to interpret it anyway you want.
Write about it on your blog... simple as that.
Maybe you can interpret it as a picture - we don't care!
Please only leave a link if you have written a Thursday Thunks post.
Don't forget to go visit the other participants' blogs.
Read and comment about all their Thursday Thunks responses!
That's what all this is about after all, isn't it?
We'll have so much fun and become lifelong friends....

The TT questions are brought to you by Berleen, the color of falling snow and the number four thousand eight hundred seventy three..

*We will now be publishing updates for Thursday Thunks on Facebook via the InsanityCafe fanpage. Please "like" us there to get your TT reminder!

1. Would you try a dog food flavored jelly bean? What about skunk spray or vomit flavored? Seriously?
2. Are any keys on your keyboard worn off? Not worn off, just blotchy/blurred.
3. Why are the lids on coffins nail/locked/sealed? Are we afraid they are going to get out? Uhh, what happens if the people who put the coffin the ground drop it? Do you really want it popping open and the body falling out?
4. True love. Define it. When I find it again, I'll tell ya.
5. Where is the strangest place you are ever fallen asleep? I dunno, I can nod off just about anywhere. Insomnia does that to ya during the day.
6. A doctor walks up to you and says "I will change anything you want... big or small... doesn't matter how much it costs, I'll do it for free!". What do you have him fix or change on your body? I don't want any surgery unless it's absolutely necessary.
7. The last picture you took - share it. Well, if it's not something we would probably find in Bud's recent photos. I have no idea...probably something for a review.
8. Blue or black ink. Your preference? Doesn't matter.
9. You are walking down the sidewalk on a city street and you see a little girl, about 3 or 4 years old, she asks you if you can tie her shoe for her. What do you do? Ask her where her parents are. WTF is a 3 or 4 year old doing walking unattended on a city street?
10. What channel numbers are ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX for you? 7, 5, 2, 32.
11. Did/do you have any marriage deal breakers? Murder, embezzlement...cheating. (Although cheating may not necessarily be a deal breaker...depends on the circumstances.)

Thursday Thunks...

Welcome to the March 17th edition of Thursday Thunks!

That's what all this is about after all, isn't it?
We'll have so much fun and become lifelong friends....

The TT questions are brought to you by Berleen, the color of melting snow and the number 456..

1. There is a song out there about you... it's on the radio, the video is on tv (just not MTV) and everybody in the world knows this song is about you. Who sings it? Melissa Ferrick. And you all have no idea who that is. So go ahead, click the link!

4. Have you ever sneaked..snuck...snucked...what is the right word? into a movie? When I was a teen, I'm sure I paid for a movie, then snuck into a different one after the one I paid for ended. And I was such a goody goody that I could have snuck friends in my trunk to the drive in theater because the staff would have never suspected me. However...I saved the trunk space to stash the beer!

3. Déjà vu; meaning "already seen", is the experience of feeling sure that one has already witnessed or experienced a current situation, even though the exact circumstances of the previous encounter are uncertain and were perhaps imagined. Thoughts on what it is? Have you experienced it? All the time! Oh wait...just now...again!

2. Stick it to me, baby. What is the last bumper sticker you saw and why do you remember it? I can't really recall. I live in suburbia...everyone drives SUV's and mini-vans and wouldn't dare put a bumper sticker on their vehicle. I don't think anyone here would be caught dead with a bumper sticker on their car.

10. Ever wonder what fish think about? Oh come on! I have enough to think about already! Dang! Now how am I ever going to get in my usual 3 hours sleep tonight?

8. If you could paint President Obama's fingernails any color, what would it be? Why would I want to do that?

7. Do you have seat covers on your car seats? What do they look like? Umm no! Why would I want to cover leather seats?

6. For the rest of your life you can eat one spice and one spice only (on whatever food you want, of course), what spice do you choose? Wow! That's a tough one. Cumin is pretty versatile.

9. If you could slide down a rainbow, which side would you slide down? The one that the pot of gold points to.

5. So a mom is suing her kids' preschool because it failed to prepare the child for the kindergarten entrance exam... did you eat paste in preschool? Ick! No way! But there was a paste eater and a crayon eater in my kindergarten class. And in my 7th grade CCD class there was a kid who still ate his boogers. He used to stick them in the pocket of his snorkel parka and save them for later. It was really gross. Nobody talked to that kid. Wonder why?

The ABC's of me...

Shamelessly stolen from Look It's Megryansmom, who stole it from Lori.

Age: 49.

Bed size: King.

Chores I dislike: Mostly the chore of telling the kids to do their chores.

Dogs: No dogs...cats. Irish and Maddux.

Essential start to your day: Coffee...coffee..and still more coffee.

Favorite color: Purple.

Gold or silver: Both.

Height: 5'6"

Instruments you play: ...If you mean musical instruments, none.

Job title: Looking for one...one that pays!

Kids: 2...and that's plenty. I seem to have a very low tolerance lately for young, very ill-behaved ones. I have literally cut dates short and declined future dates because of unruly kids. (And yes, the chicks have had their young kids on first dates, something I would have never done myself.)

Live: IL.

Mom's name: Mary.

Nickname: I actually don't think I can say. Lol!

Overnight hospital stay: Hysterectomy 2007, multiple hospital stays in 2007 prior to that because of the same issue, multiple hospital stays in 1995 for what was finally diagnosed as colitis, once for dehydration before my son was born, the birth of my son, then the birth of my daughter.

Pet peeves: See "kids" above. Lately that's a big one. And don't get me wrong, I love kids, but I just can't understand how some people let their children rule the house.

Quote from a movie: "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." Casablanca (1942)

Righty or lefty: Lefty.

Siblings: One sister.

Time you wake up: Too many times! Stupid insomnia!

Underwear: Yes.

Vegetables you don't like: I don't think there is one I don't like.

What makes you run late: Ehe! Wanting to read one last job alert before I leave to pick up someone.

Xrays you had: Teeth, arm, leg, hand, ankle, shoulder, back neck, sinuses.

Yummy food you make: According to my kids...everything.

Zoo animal favorites: Penguins.

Your turn! Leave a link to your post in the comments.
