We're all a little colorific meme

We're All a Little Colorific I've been on the prowl for memes and have discovered that many that I used to participate in have not kept up while I was away. So from time to time I will try out something new. Feel free to copy and respond with your answers. I got this from Squidoo.

Angry Red

1. Are you currently mad at someone?
Pretty much all the time, I'm sure you can guess who.

2. Which of your family members has the worst temper?
Probably me. I want so badly to be able to have company at the drop of a hat, but my kids seem to think it's really cool to let everything go until I blow my top because I can't stand it anymore.

3. Have you ever thrown something at anyone?
Yes, it's very hard to get my daughter up for school in the morning and I get hoarse from yelling, so every now and then I will throw a small paperback book or something else about as light. I toss it at her feet, trying to wake her. Does it work? Not so much. But at least it doesn't make me hoarse.

4. Is anyone mad at you?
I'm guessing a certain ex's (as in ex and ex-bff) gf. I don't get it, but not much I can do about it when communication has been silenced. I'm certain I haven't done anything. I think it can just be chalked up to the ex-factor.
5. Are you usually mad?
I try not to be. Even when bad things happen, I have taken to trying to find the positive side in it all. I think if I were mad all the time I'd spontaneously com-bust.

6. When you're mad do you prefer to stare angrily or yell?
Doesn't staring just make you look crazy? Yeah, no. I'm not a starer. Besides, kids could care less if you stare at them when you are peeved because no chores got done.

Exciting Orange

1. Has anyone ever thrown a surprise party for you?
Nope. And I can't tell you how many surprise parties I've thrown for people.

2. What event is coming up that you're most excited about?
No longer excited about Thanksgiving, other than I think it will be a great opportunity to get some things done on my own around the house. I can't really get psyched for Christmas because it's going to be a sparse one and I doubt there will be any assistance this year.

3. If you won a million dollars, what would be your first thought?
4. If you could have anything right now what would it be?
Self sufficient and able to pay all of my bills on time and have money to do fun things.
Yellow Belly Self

1. Name: Lola

2. Birthday: July

3. What's your main goal in life?
To make a difference in my children's lives.

4. Do you want to have children?
Been there...done that...done!

5. When do you want to die?
Too morbid.
Opinionated Green

1. Are you against gay marriage?
NO. Hello! Read some of my older posts!

2. Lower the drinking age?
I don't think that raising it or lowering it has much of an effect on the issue of drinking and driving.

3. Capital Punishment?
Yes.

4. Abortion?
It's a personal choice and it should be allowed to stay that way.

Lovely Blue

1. Do you love someone?
Hmm.

2. Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes.

3. Do you believe in love?
Yes.

Purple Query

Q: How many glasses of water did you have today?
A: Probably about three.

Q: What color are your socks?
A: Today they were brown stripe.

Q: Name one thing that you do everyday?
A: Check email.

Q: How much cash do you have on you right now?
A: That's mine? I think $4.00. I am holding money for one of my kids and to pay back a friend. $4 bucks is what is actually mine.

Q: Are you for or against Hillary?
A: For.

Q: Look to your left. What's there?
A: Nightstand and a lamp on it.

Q: What's the last piece of clothing you borrowed?
A: A pair of black jeans from my daughter that don't fit her anymore. They make my butt look amazing. (Or so the chicks tell me. Lol!)

Q: What website(s) do you visit the most?
A: Google. I am always googling things.

Q: Do you have plants in your room?
A: Nope.

Q: Does anything hurt on your body right now?
A: My back, shoulders, and neck. I'm a dumb ass and picked up a HUGE antique wardrobe for my son on Sunday. We had to move it from a 2nd floor apartment. Dumb ass me got under it (it was freakin' heavy!) and at one point had to hold it up on my head while I maneuvered. Dumb ASS!

Q: Do you own a picture phone?
A: What's a picture phone? A phone that takes picture? I have a Blackberry Torch, does that count?

Last but not Least, Pink

1. Person you saw: My gf.
2. Person you sent a text message to: My sister.

3. Movie watched in cinema: Bridesmaids. (Freakin' hilarious!)

4. Song you listened to: I listen to a lot. Nothing comes to mind at the moment.

5. Person you talked on the phone with: Probably a client.

6. What are you doing right now?
Duh! Answering this meme!

7. What are you doing tonight?
Watching last night's and tonight's Dancing With The Stars. (Why do I always think to vote when I am watching the episode you vote on from my DVR? Duh!)

8. What are you going to eat?
My gf brought me El Burrito Loco Steak Fajitas and chips and salsa...and...my favorite spicy carrots and jalapenos.

Answer to the first Ask me a question...

Lin of Duck & Wheel With String said:

Harriet, that does not count for more than ONE comment.
Here is my question:

WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU????!

October 29, 2011 4:50 PM

First of all to be fair...Lin is right. Same comment counts as ONE comment.

As to where I've been...

Hmmm....

I swam the Sarengeti...

I drove a stock car on the Chicagoland Speedway...

I scaled Mount Everest...

I went white water rafting...

I learned to speak fluent Spanish...

I learned to salsa dance...

I went skydiving...

I got a tattoo...

I went deep-sea fishing...

I learned to play acoustic guitar...

I went on a Kenyan safari...

I bungee jumped in Khatmandu...

I swam with manatees...

I swam in Hugh Hefner's grotto...

I hosted "Saturday Night Live".

I wrote my memoir.

Ok, ok... I didn't do anything half as exciting as that...but it probably was just as difficult to accomplish as many of those.

I got a job and I've been working over six months. I have also taken on many special projects and took on additional work. I've also been taking care of the kids. I did go camping Labor Day weekend and made the most perfect pancake. I'll have to do a post and about that and post pics.

So...this begs the question...how well do you think you know me?

Which 5 things on the list do I actually want to do?

So...any more questions?

Darn kids! Scared the B-jeepers out of me!

So this morning I'm sleeping in. My gf left early for work. House was quiet. Kids in Chicago. Window A/C and tv in my bedroom are off. Around 9:45am/10am I am startled out of a sound sleep by loud sound. I'm thinking...wtf? Is Drummer Boy/aka Metallica-head at it again? I look out the bedroom window across the street, looks normal. My heart is pounding like crazy, I'm groggy and trying to navigate the stairs. The sound is coming from the living room. It's LOUD!

I turn at the bottom of the stairs and see the tv is on. Blaring loud! WTF! I turn it off, still shaking and head for the kitchen. Then head back cause I want to know wtf happened. I turned the tv back on and apparently my son auto-tuned something on Directv. Guess what it was?

???? You guessing?

???

??

?

I swear I just turned completely gray and had 5 years knocked off my life.

Oh and if you were wondering what scene it was, I ran up to my room and set the DVR to record it (it recorded it from the beginning) and we watched it while we ate dinner. The scene that woke me up was when Don Corleone was shot. So yeah, no wonder it scared the b-jeepers out of me!

DIY to the Extreme

Check this out:

Swedish Man Caught Trying to Split Atoms at Home - Associated Press.

This ponders these questions and more:

Why would
anyone want to split atoms at home?

Why would anyone think it wasn't illegal to have nuclear material at home?

Couldn't he think of a safer hobby?

Did he ever consider what would happen if he could split an atom
at home?

What does this guy do for a living?

What questions do you ponder about this guy?

Dream birthday party....

Ok, so yeah, I don't really mean dream birthday party...I mean dream lesbian birthday party. 50th no less. Yes, Sunday was my birthday and the day of my party.

Yup! That's what I had. It was all women (thankfully...I went round and round with a friend who wanted to bring her creepy guy friend. Umm, NO. My party, I pick the guests.) And all but 1 were lesbians. We ate, discussed our impressions of what butch and femme are, and then we had a wet t-shirt contest! Yup! We turned on the sprinkler (the village with their watering rules be damned! It's my birthday!) and ran through it. There were 2 chickens who refused to do it, one who my gf ended up chasing with the sprinkler.

You say you think I'm joking, huh?

Nope. I've got photos and video which I will have up soon.

So I just thought I'd list a few random things I heard while at my party:

"So tomorrow you tell one of those straight girls that one of us single girls had their eye on them, and then tell Lola what they said so she can tell us."

"That's what SHE said."

"This woman at work told me that single day...everyone sees a cow, or an image of a cow every day. And then once someone's said it to you, you become more aware and notice it daily. And sure enough, now every day I notice a cow. (So now you thank me that you are going to be on cow alert for the next few days cuz you don't believe it either. So far today I have not seen a cow or cow image.)

"I bet you've cow tipped. Yeah, you look the type. You've cow tipped haven't you?" (Seriously! This was said after the cow a day story.)

Breaking Bad Season Premiere on AMC

Since getting satellite back (as part of a special deal from my phone company), I've been enjoying programs that I had caught at friend's houses here and there. One of those was Breaking Bad on AMC. Last week they re-ran the previous season and I recorded it on my DVR (woo hoo! I'm stepping into this century!). By the time the season premiere started I was all caught up.

If you've got it on your DVR and haven't watched it yet, you may want to go watch now and come back, because I don't want to spoil it for you, but I do want to discuss the episode, so be sure to come back.

I've always found this series very well written. Lots of plot twists and turns. Sure some of them were a bit predictable, like Jesse's girlfriend overdosing, but you couldn't say that about what followed with her father.

You certainly couldn't say that this show glamorizes drug dealing, or manufacture. If anything, it shows how evil it truly is. Sure, Walt's reasons for cooking meth are understandable. He has cancer and a new baby girl (along with a 16 year old son), and he wants to cash out big to provide for his family after he is gone. I don't know that any of us would choose that option, had we had the knowledge Walt does, but it makes for a compelling story.

I'm not a fan of gratuitous violence. In fact, I tend to not watch shows or movies that are violent. Past episodes have been violent, sure, but the season premiere seemed over the top to me. The methodical, incalculably cold, shocking way in which Gustavo Fring (played impeccably by Giancarlo Esposito) murders one of his henchman, literally almost had me losing my dinner. I was literally gagging, as if I were there and experienced it. I don't think I've ever had a reaction like that to a scene in a show or a movie.

Have you seen the show? Have you seen the episode? What do you think?
